The one thing I am passionate about...
I have a lot of wide-ranging interests, some of which include:Nature, theatre and arts events, concerts and hearing live bands in small venues, dancing to live music, flea market or antique mall finds/bargains, mid-century home furnishings (1940's-1960'), rockabilly music, Craftsman kit homes (1920's-1940's), hiking, pets, and travel.
I typically spend my leisure time
Reading (fiction, magazines, newspapers), catching up with friends and family, checking out museums, making floral arrangements, trying new restaurants, emailing, going to see films, dancing to live bands, sitting quietly with a purring cat, planning new adventures, and traveling (when I can).
The most influential person in my life has been
A well-read and/or well-educated person, who is honest and loyal. Someone with an adventuresome spirit and a zest for life (and a sense of humor isn't bad, either). NOTE: Please be fair and post your picture on your profile. Am looking for that one unique and special person, in order for us to make a complementary pair.
The first thing people notice about me
A big smile and a friendly demeanor; easy to talk to, can engage anyone in conversation, and draw them out.
The last book I read and enjoyed
A book about the Great Hurricane of 1938, which devasted the east coast in 1938...with riveting personal accounts from people who survived through the worst of that hurricane. GH38 (they had no "names" for hurricanes back then) was worse than Hurricane Katrina, in regards to damage, destruction and loss of lives. It greatly altered the east coast shoreline, changing the shape of some areas forever (it also destroyed much of the Atlantic City Boardwalk). I read one or two fiction/non-fiction novels a month, plus mags & newspapers.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- Family and friends
- Good health and longevity
- An busy life with some artistic focus
Friends Describe me as
Creative, Funny, Genuine, Intelligent
A little more about me
I am cancelling my subscription to eHarmony. My profile will no longer be on this service after April 28th. SORRY I never put better pix up, but I guess that weeded out the shallow types who were only looking for "super-pretty girls". So, great good luck to the rest of you searching on here. I found eHarmony to be an utterly useless and expensive waste of time. To the rest of the "matches" out there, good luck guys, and keep on with your quest for the Holy Grail of the hottest chick that you can find, in the fastest time possible. :-(( Bitterly yours, the honest, down-to-earth, fun-loving,nice-girl-next-door that you missed out on.
