More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I am interested in architecture and interior design, golf, travel, movies, books, dining, good wine, laughter, finding that perfect dress, and my two sons. And a passionate love life.

I typically spend my leisure time

A mixture of socializing and being alone. I love meeting friends for drinks, dinner, dinner parties, watching golf and NBA basketball. Conversely, I also like to wander around bookstores undisturbed, go to a movie, dine out (I'm ok eating alone). I read history books, biographies and current events. I cook, golf, walk, shop, plan vacations, water the yard and take naps. I hang with my boys.

The most influential person in my life has been

I am looking for someone who seizes life and makes things happen personally and professionally. A man with confidence, skills, drive and determination. Someone I can admire and respect through traits such as independence, taking responsibility for their own station in life and things they do, career success and happiness, good relationships with ex's (unless she's crazy)and children. If he has no children, he must like and respect them. He does not depend on others for his happiness and does not blame others when it is absent from his life. He is comfortable alone or with someone; neither state describes or defines who he is.

The first thing people notice about me

My smile! Also my energy, bounce in my step and "glass is always half full" attitude.

The last book I read and enjoyed

"Couldn't Keep it to Myself" by Wally Lamb. It's a compilation of autobiographical stories written by female inmates at the York Correctional Institution. The stories are a journey of self-awareness, hope, humor and triumph. Helped me gain perspective on the uncontrollable circumstances of some women's lives. Also loved "Flags of Our Fathers", about WWII and the brave young men of Iwo Jima.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My two mannered, well-adjusted sons
  2. Life's Bounties: fresh fruit and vegetables, a flawlessly cooked steak, fresh seafood, a perfectly chilled cocktail, clean, crisp sheets, fresh cut flowers, a green fairway and a warm breeze
  3. My health and that I look 10 years younger than my true age (so I have been told)

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

That, despite my confidence and independence, I like men to take the lead, make the first move, to take the initiative.

Friends Describe me as

Energetic, Optimistic, Outgoing, Perceptive

A little more about me

Chemistry is important. It is either there or it isn't. I am not a native Oregonian (from California, God forbid!). I admire men who want to be the best of what they can be and are willing to work at achieving it. No ultra-liberal politics please. I lean more toward being a conservative and voted for McCain in the last election. I am pro-choice however and have some liberal beliefs but am not an avid evironmentalist, vegetarian, anti-fur, anti-business, crunchy-granola type. There, I said it.
