The one thing I am passionate about...
living ... I have learned that life is too short to spend it dwelling in the past, or not being truly happy and friendly, going to bed angry, or living as a person that I am proud of and content to see in the mirror looking back at me.
I typically spend my leisure time
watching movies, eating out, cooking, laughing, loving ... enjoying these times with my sons while I still have the privilege, before they have moved out and on to their own lives
The most influential person in my life has been
humor ... I enjoy people who can laugh, even in the sight of a catastrophe. I find it difficult to mesh with those who spend their time whining at the difficulties that life throws at us, instead of trying to fix them.
The first thing people notice about me
my intelligence, acceptance and compassion. People always seem to turn to me when they need advice and/or guidance in solving their problems, because as I am always told I am "a good listener with a heart of gold."
The last book I read and enjoyed
I read a lot at work and so have a tendency not to do so much of it in my spare time. The last book that I read for fun was the DaVinci Code while on an airplane on my way for a much needed vacation. While, I did, truly enjoy the novel, the plot's twists and turns, and characterizations, I must be honest as I enjoyed the vacation much more.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My family
- My friends
- My life
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I am a widow and as such this seems to be one of the first adjectives people use to describe me. For the longest time, it seemed as though my friends had forgotten I was still alive and that I was left feeling guilty for being so, by this initial adjective in their introductions.
Friends Describe me as
Intelligent, Kind, Loyal, Thoughtful
