More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I am passionate about learning about anything and everything. I love to laugh and make others laugh. I am willing to try anything once. I like to play devil's advocate. Listening to music is one of my favorite things to do.

I typically spend my leisure time

A lot of my leisure time is spent traveling to and from work, where I listen to music and play air drums on my dashboard. I wish I went to more concerts, but I've been disappointed in the last few I've been to, so it's hard to summon the motivation. Sometimes, when I get the urge, I'll pick up some things from the grocery store and whip up a homemade meal. I also play Rock Band, which is the greatest game ever created.

The most influential person in my life has been

I'm looking for someone who is very sweet, but is strong enough to stand up for themselves. I like to argue (playfully), so please don't be put off if I don't automatically agree with everything you say. I'm looking for someone who's goofy, that likes to laugh, and doesn't take anything too seriously, especially themselves. Someone who is adventurous, yet doesn't mind staying in and watching TV or a movie. Life is too short to take seriously, so you might as well have fun while you're here.

The first thing people notice about me

The first thing people notice is that I'm very reserved. It may take a while for me to warm up to a person, but once I do, watch out.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I'm currently reading The Hot Zone. It's a true story about the outbreak of the Ebola and Marburg viruses. I find it very interesting not only from a biological perspective, but also because I can relate to a lot of it based on my current job. I don't deal with any Biosafety Level 4 agents, but I do work at Levels 2 and 3 on a regular basis. I have to warn you, it's not for the faint of heart :)

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My sense of humor
  2. My desire for knowledge
  3. My friends

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I wish that people could know from the start to not take anything I say seriously. Not that I'm a pathological liar, but I am very facetious, and almost everything I say is meant to be taken as a joke. Except that. And that. And that...

Friends Describe me as

A little more about me

I will be going to Loyola this fall for my Masters degree in Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry (don't let that scare you!). Also, it's not necessary, but if you like grunge music and/or 80s (hair) metal it would be a huge plus.
