The one thing I am passionate about...
I am passionate about being a a good mother. I am passionate about securing a good future for myself and my son- though through hard work, not relying on someone else or making myself available to someone because of their money. I am passionate about teaching. It may sound silly here, but I know our nation's standing in math and science is rapidly dropping following our success in astroscience, and I want to teach math so that America's children will be able to be competitive in their future jobs (which is not going to be the case if we follow current models). Lastly, I am passionate about being a good person. An actual moral, decent human.
I typically spend my leisure time
Right now, because of my son and college I don't have much leisure time, so in that miniscule space of time between getting work done after my son is asleep and getting up in the morning, I read to relax. When I don't have classes though (the summertime) I love water activities: swimming, boating, kayaking, fishing. I put my son in his kid's seat and go for a bike ride, go to the park. I also like animals and outdoor motor machines- snowmobiles, atv's, motorcycles. I like to travel to new places, and experience new things. I like camping. Ideally I'd get one of those pop-up campers and travel to each state. I'm up for new experiences.
The most influential person in my life has been
Honesty. I have very little tolerance for liars. I'd rather hear a bad truth than a good lie.
The first thing people notice about me
From what I'm told that would be in the family of nuturing/friendly/caring.
The last book I read and enjoyed
Ha. I've read five books in the past week. I wouldn't bore you. But the author I like right now is Jennifer Crusie because of her wit and humor, literally laugh out loud reading. I like to escape to other places and situations in books, and I always love a book that gives me hope.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- I am thankful for my son; he gives me a reason, everyday, to strive for success.
- I am thankful for my family, who have suppported me through diffuculties and support me (emotionally) now that I am raising my son alone.
- I am thankful for myself. I know that I am a good person, and that gives me hope that someone else will see that in me and love me for it.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I have to put in a lot of work to keep my life balanced, so people don't often notice that I like to be spontaneous. I like spontaneous gestures of kindness, romance and fun. Also, I have an abnormal sense of humor, so it takes a little while to catch on to it.
Friends Describe me as
Caring, Hard Working, Loyal, Outgoing
