The one thing I am passionate about...
I am passionate about living in such a way that brings grace and justice into the lives of people close to me and far away. Also, about languages and communication, travel and understanding between diverse cultures, and close relationships.
I typically spend my leisure time
I love to be outside: gardening, running, tennis, reading in my hammock, biking, hanging out at the park with my nephew, camping, or hiking the trails. Indoors, I enjoy concerts and plays, bookstores, a drink with friends, a night out dancing, knitting, cooking (not that I am good at this) and most of all, I can't get enough of GOOD CONVERSATION.
The most influential person in my life has been
I think I am looking most of all for wisdom. With that, all is well.
The first thing people notice about me
The colorful way that I speak!
The last book I read and enjoyed
I most lately have read a tiny, rare novel by Willa Cather, one of my literary heroines, called "A Lost Lady," about the young wife of a wealthy railroad investor in the early American West. I like the book's examination of the complex relationships between beauty, wealth, strength, weakness, naivete and deception. Characters in the book are just as internally conflicted as real people.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- God's grace, mercy, beauty and presence
- Relationships with family and friends
- Health and physical/mental abilities
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
Hmmm... I think I'm content with the pace that people get to know me, so I can't answer this one.
Friends Describe me as
Articulate, Creative, Intelligent, Kind
A little more about me
I sing in the car. Really loudly.
