More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Taking care of my family and friends. Taking care of my horses and dogs. Riding the woods and trails of the Tennessee hills. Living an honest, comfortable life. Trying to "live lightly" on the land. Trying to leave people and things better for my having been there.

I typically spend my leisure time

There is no question that my preferred leisure activities revolve around horses and horse people. I love to ride, I like to go to horse-related events. I've always said that I'd watch paint dry on the side of a horse. I don't compete 'cause of the money and politics involved, but I'll go watch. I like to do things with my friends, especially if horses are involved. Like to trail ride and camp. It's hard for me to separate "work" and "leisure". So many things that I like to do are considered "work" by some people. I like to do projects around the place, but they sometimes kinda look like "work". Heck, I have fun riding the tractor!

The most influential person in my life has been

The quick answer is "honesty" - but, heck, some of the most obnoxious people I know are "honest". For me, flexibility is important. Life throws us curves - we gotta be flexible so we can duck!

The first thing people notice about me

That I'm gonna wear my Wranglers just about everywhere? I guess it really has to be that I've never met a stranger and I'm not afraid of much.

The last book I read and enjoyed

"The Omnivore's Dilemma" - Michael Pollen is a great investigative reporter and entertaining writer. Of course, you may never be able to eat commercially processed food again, but, hey, you'll know a hell of a lot about John Chapman, the real Johnny Appleseed.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. I'm grateful for my good health and pretty darn good brain
  2. I'm grateful that I was raised by good parents, have a good work ethic and know how to take care of myself and my home.
  3. I'm grateful that I get to live in the country, have my horses and enjoy my daily life.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I dont' have any hidden agendas. I am what I am and people can notice (or not notice) whatever they darn well please. I'm not particularly interested in what people notice about me.

Friends Describe me as

Energetic, Hard Working, Intelligent, Loyal

A little more about me

If you don't like horses, dirt and hard work then you might as well look for someone who wants "romantic movies, cuddling by the fire and long walks in the rain". If you can't back a trailer, you can't make it in my world. I used to do a lot of gardening and like it. Opps, there's that dirt again. Hmmm - if you own a chainsaw, that would be a plus. If you own a horse, that would be even better. I guess you should know that I'm probably going to wear out before I rust out.
