The one thing I am passionate about...
I'm passionate about maintaining a certain balance in the various aspects of my life. It's so easy to get wrapped up in the day-to-day trappings. Seeing that there's ample time to spend with my children, friends and eventually a significant other is important. When faced with the challenge to raise two children on my own, I embarked on a career path that enabled me to work with people that face the direst circumstances. Im passionate about ensuring that those who are most deserved have the prospect of a better lifestyle with the advent of emerging medical technologies. Witnessing the triumph of human spirit fuels that passion.
I typically spend my leisure time
Most recently, Ive explored digital photography as a hobby on my travels and in capturing that big smile on my newborn grandson's face. Im fortunate that my son coaches boys junior high basketball, so I can get my coaching fix by assisting with his teams. Collecting old, rare literature and reference books is a relaxing diversion. I also enjoy tending the yard, hiking, camping and most sports.
The most influential person in my life has been
Honesty, caring and forthrightness are cornerstones for any relationship. A simple approach to life, kindness for others, and the subtle confidence that belies a keen intellect are all desirable traits. Oh, andadd a sense of humor, well...
The first thing people notice about me
That when people ask, "how's your day?"...my response is typically, "it's the best day of my whole life." I'm thankful for greeting each day and try to treat everyone that I encounter (no matter what their lot in life is) with a certain respect and positivism.
The last book I read and enjoyed
Facing a World in Crisis by J. Krishnamurti. The author is a spiritual teacher from India who challenges the prevailing, conventional thinking related to each of our egos, fears, sectarianism and nationalism. It's both thought provoking and insightful.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- I'm thankful for the relationships that have been formulated with my adult children.
- I'm thankful for a career that has been both humbling and fulfilling.
- I'm thankful for the people and experiences in my life that have helped shape my perspective.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
In business, it's better if someone doesn't confuse my kindness for weakness. Personally, I'd like people to know that my introspective nature is not an indicator of aloofness or shyness.
Friends Describe me as
Genuine, Good listener, Thoughtful, Warm
