The one thing I am passionate about...
I am passionate about people and what makes them "tick"; travel and learning about new cultures; reading good literature, but also trying to write my own; being a good role model to my students, and to the younger members of my family; making sound, responsible decisions so that my choices in life don't negatively impact others around me; taking time to live and understand the meaning of what it is to be free; love, sensuality, intimacy and laughter; being true to myself, and finding someone secure enough to embrace that aspect of my life while also feeling comfortable (and encouraged!) to explore his own desires, feelings and needs.
I typically spend my leisure time
I love to travel. I have driven across the United States during various roadtrips. I have also traveled to the Caribbean, Alaska, The Netherlands (twice), Belgium and France. I have been to Paris a number of times; the novel that I'm writing is set there. I'm an avid reader/writer; it is not uncommon for me to read four hours a day, with as many hours spent writing as well. I also love music, photography and funny conversations. People watching is a hobby of mine, too.
The most influential person in my life has been
A gentleman with an open soul is a joy to behold. My dream mate would be someone who is at ease in his own skin, a man unafraid to be both the center of attention and a good listener. I find a confident man with great communication skills incredibly appealing.
The first thing people notice about me
My energy - I have a vibrant personality.
The last book I read and enjoyed
I just finished a book entitled Loose Girl by Kerry Cohen. The story is a memoir of promiscuity; as a young girl, Cohen, starved for love and attention from both her mother and her father, had sexual relationships with approximately 40 boys and men before she realized how self-destructive her behavior had become. I was motivated to read this book after hearing some of the scary conversations my middle school students were having. Cohen's story gave me the insight necessary to build the self-esteem of my students in order that they grow to value their bodies and their lives more.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- The loving, supportive relationship I have with my mother
- The ease with which I extend compassion and care to others
- My strong desire to continue to live and learn, laugh and grow as a human being
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
People don't sense right away that I'm a little sensitive. Or shy. I can be so outgoing that often these two characteristics are overlooked.

A little more about me
I am a 21st-century, old-fashioned girl. A simple gesture such as holding hands means more to me than an expensive bouquet of roses. Don't get me wrong...I love flowers. I just happen to appreciate the sentiment behind the flowers more. I want to feel the qualities within. A warm man, a tender, affectionate, emotionally generous, honest man is nature's gift to womanhood. Life is already beautiful on my own; with the ideal mate, I'm looking to upgrade to splendid.
