More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I'm most passionate about making the most out of life and exploring what makes me happy on the deepest of levels. I'm a person of varied interests but primary amongst them is my interest and practice of yoga which influences most if not all aspects of my current life. While I have been quite successful professionally I'm in the process of starting a new career which will be more closely aligned with my personal interests. With that in mind I'm in the second year of my masters in psychology where I'm studying the connections between the mind and body and how they influence one another.

I typically spend my leisure time

Aside from my yoga practice I really enjoy being outside. I love to bike and frequently go Mtn. biking with friends. I also like to ski and snowboard although I haven't been able to much of either the past few years... but I'm hoping to change that this year :-)I love music and enjoy going to live performances at smaller venues as well as going out dancing with friends.I enjoy discussing current events and feel obligated during these uncertain times to stay informed about what's going on in the world while acting locally.Oh I also love to stay in and watch a good movie.

The most influential person in my life has been

I look forward to meeting someone who is passionate about something in life and can hold thoughtful conversations about those interests.

The first thing people notice about me

hmm, let's see probably my sarcastic sense of humor and or my thoughtfulness. I am from new york originally and I still retain some of those stereotypical traits attributed to new yorkers i.e. sarcasm. But I'm also a fairly cerebral person and like to engage people on more than a superficial level.

The last book I read and enjoyed

Shantaram.A fantastic and intriguing book about a guy who falls into addiction after a nasty divorce, goes to jail, escapes torture in jail, somehow makes it to India where he intially hides amongst the poor in Mumbai (Bombay) before becoming involved with the criminal underworld there who run most aspects of the city with a cunning intelligence while engaging in engrossing philosophical debates about their lives and those of their "subjects". Not your run of the mill book and based on actual events.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My Health
  2. My Friends
  3. My Family

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

That I'm a sensitive person.
