More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I am most passionate about learning what I can about how other people have evolved into the people they are today. I am very fortunate to have a good, stable, and sometimes challenging job, and to be healthy enough to have running as a hobby, but these pursuits would not feel worthwhile if I did not derive a greater sense of connection to others. I have wonderful, interesting friends, that make my life feel much fuller.

I typically spend my leisure time

Reading, running, Netflix, eating. I am usually training for (running) races that my friends talk me into doing!

The most influential person in my life has been

I like people that want to learn because they care about others. I tend to read the news, and to care about politics.

The first thing people notice about me

That I exist.

The last book I read and enjoyed

the last book I completed was CATCHING FIRE: HOW COOKING MADE US HUMAN. I am currently reading HITCH 22 (the Christopher Hitchens autobiography). I read about evolutionary philosophy, law, and am a bit of a news junkie. CATCHING FIRE is about how cooking food allowed human beings to allocate energy to developing our huge brains. Cooking obviates, to some degree, the need to utilize the body's energy dedicated to chewing/digesting food. We have become too successful at processing and cooking food to derive as much energy as possible though!

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My brother and sister
  2. My friends
  3. My job security

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

Perhaps that if I seem professional or unapproachable, it is my way of handling my shyness. I can by shy until I have a real sense of a situation or person.

Friends Describe me as

Dependable, Intelligent, Kind, Perceptive

A little more about me

I run, and like active people. I have run 9 marathons (that sounds more extreme than it warrants . . . some of them were for fun with friends.) So I usually do have a race or event I have in mind, and feel strong ties to my running friends. And I just moved. I am home sick today (boo!) but thought I'd look at EHarmony after being pretty inactive because I knew I would leave middle PA.

I am
Somewhat Liberal
