More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

The most important thing my family gave me growing up, was the opportunity to get a good education. I was first to go to college, and now I'm about making that happen for others.

I typically spend my leisure time

Going out to a see a movie or read at a bookstore coffee shop, vanilla soy latte in hand. Staying in to watch a good weekly TV series (The Wire was a great one) or hanging out with friends.

The most influential person in my life has been

Optimism. Someone who can see the bright side of things and perhaps inspire others to see the same. I'm all about realism -- but the *reality* is that you get what you expect out of life, so why not expect the best!

The first thing people notice about me

Probably my kindness. I always leave a tip, say "please" and "thank you", and generally try to be friendly, especially when it looks like someone's had a hard day. What goes around comes around, so if you plant kindness, that you shall also reap ;-)

The last book I read and enjoyed

The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch. I love books that help you see the value of life more clearly -- it's all about perspective!

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My family -- they've sacrificed a lot for me, and I wouldn't be where I am today without them.
  2. My friends -- my family away from home! The most caring, intelligent, and fun bunch of guys and gals :)
  3. My youth -- so much to do; so little time! Thank goodness I'm still young :)

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

Probably that I love to have fun. People sometimes think I'm very serious because I tend to be quiet at first. But, I was raised on roller coasters and video games, and that sense of adventure still remains.

Friends Describe me as

Affectionate, Easy-Going, Intelligent, Optimistic
