More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

At work, using philanthropy to bring health care and education to the underserved. In my personal life, securing my future and finding someone special to be part of it. I am also passionate about my hobbies: Rock climbing makes me feel balanced and healthy as a whole person - and pushes my abilities further than anything else that I do. I enjoy cooking and woodworking because they allow me to express creativity and artistic points of view. Sailing is also a great pass time - it teaches me patience and is an art form in and of itself.

I typically spend my leisure time

Rock climbing and enjoying the outdoors, cooking, reading, sailing, woodworking and building contemporary furniture.

The most influential person in my life has been

Personality and intelligence are the most important qualities I look for in a woman. Physical attraction is obviously important as well, but for me it all starts with personality. I would also say honesty and maturity - someone who shares my dislike of dating drama. A sense of adventure is also important - someone who will try new things and introduce me to new things as well, someone who isnt afraid to let go and be theirself. (I guess that was more than one...)

The first thing people notice about me

Confidence - at least thats what I'm told. I think cofidence and personality definately speaks louder than words or appearance. That is true for all of us. I'm also told that I am a good conversationist - probably thanks to my background in politics.

The last book I read and enjoyed

To be honest, the last book I read was "Why American's Hate Politics?". It's a book about why Americans are so apathetic towards elections. But...that's way too nerdy, so why don't I talk about the book I'm reading now..."Touching The Void". It's a true story about two mountain climbers who find themselved in a survival situation while climbing in the Andes. I'm only a couple of chapters into it, but am enjoying it so far. It's seems to be another epic tale of man vs. nature - I never get tired of these...

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Friends and family (even my deadbeat uncle). Yes, I know it's a typical answer, but hey, what's life without others to share it with?
  2. My job and career. That may sound boring, but in this economy, it's a jungle out there...did I mention that I'm gainfully employed?
  3. The simple pleasures of everyday life - good food, humor, music, and friends.

Friends Describe me as

Genuine, Intelligent, Loyal, Romantic
