More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I spent 14 years living in Europe and Texas so I've learned to appreciate different cultures and developed an appreciation for travel. This means experiencing places and not just seeing them, and it applies to all the great places we have in the northwest as well as those far away.

I typically spend my leisure time

I enjoy travel, photography, cooking, various forms of exercise (road and mountain biking, running, gym) but am not nuts about it - just want to keep from growing moss which is easy to do in Seattle. Love the water and mountains (boating, hiking, skiing). I also have a dog who is amazing and does just about everything with me, although I can't seem to get her to ride a bike with those short legs; not yet anyway.

The most influential person in my life has been

Not sure how to narrow this to one. The obvious things is that there is the elusive "connection", but in addition to that I'd say the ability to communicate. Finding someone who you communicate well with on many levels, both verbally and non-verbally (including comfortable silence) will have the biggest impact on other aspects of a relationship.

The first thing people notice about me

I'd like to think it's that I'm an optimistic person, but never really asked. Sounds like a good research topic.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I read a variety of fiction and non-fiction and have been into mysteries lately. Just finished the Poet from Michael Connelley and also The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Also read How We Decide which is a fascinating book about how we make, or don't make, decisions and how flawed the process can be. It made me realize the important influence of the unconscious mind. Now if I could only decide what to read next.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Family & friends
  2. Health
  3. Various life experiences (more on that later)

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

Not sure, but sound like a good conversation topic for later. I've got to put something here though so eHarmony will stop telling me that my profile isn't complete.

Friends Describe me as

A little more about me

I have a close relationship with my family and they all live in the NW. I also have a herd of nephews and nieces who I enjoy spending time with which gives me an excuse to act like a big kid sometimes. Oh, and I know my Myers-Briggs personality type if anyone wants to know what makes me tick.
