More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Life in general. Books, music, art, family, friends, activities. I've come to realize that I am passionate about my values, what is important to me is very important and we need political leaders who will help us protect the earth, promote peace, work for peace and justice in general. I'm passionate about literature and teaching my students to appreciate all that can be found there and for them to develop a voice in the world that will contribute to the world's richness. It's important to me to help my students see they can make unique contributions, no matter what it is. Even baking a great cupcake! And I'm passionate about fun.

I typically spend my leisure time

I fill most of my free time with gardening or kayaking or hiking recently, but also like to take the time to read all sorts of things (fiction, non-fiction, newspapers). My kids and I like to take road trips (I call them "adventures" because we'll often take off without a destination in mind) and look for places we've never seen before. I enjoy bookstores and museums on rainy days, a football game on a cold, fall afternoon, skiing or skating in the winter, watching movies and eating popcorn next to the woodstove. Watching the Red Sox play! Going on outings with my friends and/or family fills many of my weekends.

The most influential person in my life has been

Most important, hmmm. Fun, maybe. Responsible/fun/open-minded all in one!

The first thing people notice about me

My good energy.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I read a number of books at a time, both fiction and non-fiction. One book I've recently enjoyed is Charles Frazier's "Thirteen Moons."

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My children and other family (brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews)
  2. My health
  3. My work (my place of employment and my friends there are so great)

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

All of the great character and integrity that doesn't usually get revealed right away.

Friends Describe me as

Dependable, Funny, Hard Working, Intelligent

A little more about me

I'm fun, hardworking, a good cook, and a good friend.
