More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Achieving balance in my life. I have a job I love and outside interests I love. What's missing is a kind and loving companion. I'm also passionate about hiking and a five-mile snowshoe trek after the first snowfall of the year. Breaking trail through a foot of crisp, clean snow is breathtaking--literally.

I typically spend my leisure time

I love hiking, snowshoeing, being around water and the outdoors. I love cooking and having others cook for me, although the latter certainly isn't a deal-breaker. Working in my yard (I like to call it gardening, but it's really just pulling weeds.) I'm a Yankees fan but would easily enjoy someone who loves Boston, the Mets or any other contender. I do my best to fix things around my 90-year-old house, but my most recent attempt resulted in blowing the wiring in my dining room.

The most influential person in my life has been

Honesty, humor, and integrity come immediately to mind. I'm looking for a man who is genuine and true to his word. Free-flowing affection is also appreciated.

The first thing people notice about me

I engage people and settle easily into conversation. I have an inquisitive nature and am interested in hearing what someone has to say.

The last book I read and enjoyed

"The How of Happiness: A Scientific Approach to Getting the Life You Want." I guess I use it more as a reference book. It matches your personality with simple "feel good" actions that usually help others. They're helpful suggestions when I'm having an off-day. I just finished "Patty Jane's House of Curl." It was a great book about women's friendships and family bonds.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. family and friends
  2. my good health
  3. second chances

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I'm taller than I look... I'm pretty soft-hearted.

Friends Describe me as

Energetic, Funny, Genuine, Intelligent

A little more about me

Sometimes I drive too fast. Sometimes I procrastinate. Sometimes I' m compulsive. Sometimes I think the Yankees paid way too much for C.C. Sabathia. I never run out of toilet paper (some weird fear I've developed in adulthood). I always cry during "It's a Wonderful Life."
