More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I love to travel and experience new cultures, places and people. I always want to be learning something new and have a list of things I'd like to learn how to do, things I'd like to try, and places I'd like to visit in my lifetime. It is important to me that I stay physically fit and I enjoy exercising but am not obsessive about it. I like to vary my routine - I recently started playing tennis. I am passionate about my daughter and helping her develop into a well adjusted adult. Providing her with a good education is important to me and we recently have started looking at colleges.

I typically spend my leisure time

If the weather is nice I'd prefer to be outdoors and doing something like taking my dogs for a long walk on the tow path or sightseeing around a new town. I also enjoy motorcycle rides - as a passenger :) In the winter I used to love to cross country ski, but unfortunately we don't get enough snow around here to do that very often. If the weather is bad I enjoy browsing through book stores. Sometimes, though, if it's been a hectic week I also enjoy renting a bunch of videos and having a movie weekend.

The most influential person in my life has been

It's too hard to choose just one - good communication skills are a plus, and you have to be able to laugh at yourself and not take life too seriously

The last book I read and enjoyed

I'm always reading something - most recently it's been "Tennis for Dummies" (the title pretty much sums it up) and "The City of Falling Angles" a nonfiction book about Venice after a fire destroyed the Fenice Opera House. It's much more interesting than it sounds!

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. my immediate family - my daughter and dogs
  2. that I have great friends
  3. my job
