The one thing I am passionate about...
Learning new things, epiphany moments, artistic expression and play, sharing knowledge and passions with others, friendships, emotional connections, dancing, love, silliness, children, helping people realize their potential, intelligent conversations, laughter, and creating social justice through understanding, acceptance, and encouraging others.
I typically spend my leisure time
I enjoy relaxing at home- curling up with my dog and enjoying a good book or movie, chatting with my mom or calling a friend.I love to have mini-adventures when I have the time. Finding a great new restaurant or store, going to the lakes/or beach, visiting museums or art galleries, taking a class in a new art form like sculpture or silver-smithing, going out dancing, going to a party where I know no one, listening to live music, volunteering, and meeting new people. (I guess that is many things!)I love to do creative things! I design jewelry, sculpture, write poetry, and more...
The most influential person in my life has been
It's hard to define...I'd say it's a blend of kindness, honesty, acceptance of life's ambiguities. The ability to listen to others, to try to understand others from their point of view, to accept differences, and to seek connections and compromise.
The first thing people notice about me
People are often drawn to my insightfulness and playfulness.
The last book I read and enjoyed
I haven't had as much time for fun reading now that I am in grad school- although I read Reveille for Radicals, for a class last semester, which was fascinating! I like reading other people's heated opinions about it on Amazon... My favorite author is Tom Robbins. His work is poetic, funny, touching, clever, whimsical, and sexy. Check out Jitterbug Perfume and Still Life with a Woodpecker.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My loved ones (family and friends)
- Opportunities to pursue an education/career that I'm passionate about
- The ability to express myself: to communicate and do creative work
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I'm really smart, but I don't spend every second being an egghead. In fact I spend a lot of time being silly, but don't assume that this is immaturity or that I am a dummy. To me life would be dull if we always took it seriously and didn't engage in child-like wonder, imagination, and play. On the other hand, I enjoy deep, engaging, interesting conversations and someone who can get my mind spinning.
Friends Describe me as

A little more about me
I'm kind of dabbling in this site right now- I will be reading profiles, but I haven't signed up yet so I can't respond or see pictures... I kinda like it this way, it's very pure and keeps me from being influenced by appearances. Also, I'm in grad school, so I have minimal free time right now...just thinkin' for the future, I guess...or seeing if anyone will catch my eye.
