More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I really love being outside. Whether it is summer or winter it doesn't matter. From fishing to mountain climbing to basketball to football. I love to snowboard as well. I'm kind of at the point in my life where my passion's have been put on the back burner for financial security. Whereas in my past it was the other way around. That may sound shallow, but in all reality it is not. I'm trying to do it right and once financial security comes the passionate things can be done without recourse.

I typically spend my leisure time

Being active, in athletics and the community are once again becoming important to me. I think community involvement is an important issue for those who have something to give. I haven't always been in the position to be able to give time or money but always said when I can I will, and that time has come. Otherwise hanging out watching movies, or going to the bar on occasion is a relaxing time for me.

The most influential person in my life has been

Honesty, love, compassion. Someone to push me to be a better person. Someone who when I see them or when I'm around them, I want to be a better person.

The first thing people notice about me

My sense of humor. I love making people laugh.

The last book I read and enjoyed

My favorite book is "The Catcher in the Rye" by J.D. Salinger. In a lot of ways I relate to Holden Caufield. His vulnerabilities tend to go unnoticed and sometimes he feels like he's been lost in the shuffle. I've felt the same way. But the book I'm reading right now is call "Moneyball" by Michael Lewis. I am enjoying it thoroughly but am not finished. It's a true story about Billy Beane, a baseball player turned General Manager of the Oakland A's. He learned through baseball his strengths and weaknesses and has been able to apply them to his life even though in most peoples eyes his career as a baseball player was a failure.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My brother's, without them I would be completely lost.
  2. My Dog, she is my best friend
  3. My own resiliency, which has been enabled by the other two

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

My vulnerability. Part of that is my fault because I have a strong personality and am usually the one with the solutions. Also like I said I like to make people laugh and sometimes people think that's all I have to offer, which is definitely not the case.

Friends Describe me as

Funny, Generous, Intelligent, Loyal

A little more about me

I have lived an interesting life up to this point. Not everything has gone my way, and by no means to I believe anything is owed to me. But as long as I stay positive, and keep my head up good things will happen. My college professor said it best "Life is a series of disastrous situations, it's how you deal with them and how you overcome them that defines you as a person." He neglected to mention, however, that there are many great things that happen in between, and sometimes in the wake of those situations, and it's realizing those great things that makes you stronger and better prepared for the next one.
