The one thing I am passionate about...
It's important that I make the most of opportunities to make a wonderful difference in the lives of others, beginning with my family, friends, and neighbors. It's all about serving one another in love, and God's love in my life makes that possible. Caring about the people in my life, including those who I meet briefly, is important to me. Everyone counts. "For God so loved the world..." means everyone is important and valued in Father God's eyes. His love for everyone has become my passion.
I typically spend my leisure time
I enjoy spending some time alone or with a friend/friends; going to the theater to see a play, musical or a movie; concert; photography; scrap booking photos is my newest hobby; trying out new recipes; volunteering at the Church media center; chess, and other board games. I really don't have a lot of leisure time, but something wonderful came into my life recently: an electronic organ/piano, along with music instruction books, and I am going to make time to learn to play. It's never too late to learn as long is one is willing and able.
The most influential person in my life has been
A man who loves the Lord Jesus and is a born-again Christian. Everyone is at a different place in their spiritual journey, but I feel that a mutual belief in Jesus as one's Lord and Savior is a good starting point for a relationship to develop.
The first thing people notice about me
Warm, welcoming and genuinely interested in meeting and being with them in that moment.
The last book I read and enjoyed
I recently read, How to Revitalize Your Body in 28 Days - Get Healthy Through Detox and Fasting, by Don Colbert, MD. This book is in keeping with my health goals for 2009, and it combines my spiritual beliefs with medical health principles. I recommend it to anyone looking for a "total makeover" from the inside out.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- Being alive, and saved through Christ!
- My precious daughter.
- The blessing of great friends: Debby, Rosemarie, Freda and Alex.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I like to begin with the end in mind. If people knew this about me, they'd know I have the best thoughts and intentions at heart for all.
Friends Describe me as
Genuine, Good listener, Optimistic, Thoughtful
A little more about me
I enjoy biking, reading fiction/non-fiction, maintaining a journal, walking...especially along an ocean side beach. I have fond memories of weekends at the beach with my mom, brother, other family and friends. Rochester only has lakeside beaches, so I have to drive a few hours during the summer to enjoy the ocean, but it is worth every second. I enjoy the simple things in life more than any material riches.
