"In Transition: How Feminism, Sexual Liberation, And The Search For Self-fulfillment Have Altered America," by Judith Bardwick. Written in 1979 as an academic text, I doubt that it was widely read, which seems a shame, for it is very insightful into the human condition. The author was a psychology professor at the time, and weaves details of her own eperiences into her arguements very effectively, which warms the tone.
I've always felt that people have formed an incorrect first impression of me- not necessarily a bad one, just not who I am. It's not the end of the world- we usually straighten it out quickly enough. It would help if I cared less.
