The one thing I am passionate about...
My family, which includes my mother and father and my younger sister, are all very important people in my daily life. I see and talk with them often. I absolutely love to travel. My favorite trip was one I made immediately following graduation from graduate school in spring of 2009 when I traveled to Zambia and Botswana on a Habitat for Humanity trip building houses there! It was a life-changing experience and I can't wait to go back! I also love music, everything from Hillsong United to Brooke Frasier, both of which got me through my African adventure in May, from Rascal Flatts to Kelly Clarkson and from NeedtoBreathe to Gavin Degraw.
I typically spend my leisure time
When I'm not working, I love exercising, either doing Crossfit or doing something outdoors if it's good weather, getting together with friends for dinner, going for hikes on weekends or doing something more adventurous like going on a high ropes course. I love to read and to listen to music. There are so many great things to do in the DC area it's incredible!!!
The most influential person in my life has been
You love being outside, whether you're biking or hiking or camping. You know who you are and aren't afraid to be yourself. You're outgoing, adventurous and open minded (so you don't care that I have a comfort pillow) and care about your health/well-being with the occassional brownie sundae/diabetes inducing goodies/doritoes mixed in.
The first thing people notice about me
The first thing that people notice about me is my smile (I do it a lot!) I'm very open and don't hold a lot back, especially with close friends. And then there's my obsession with peanut butter. It's healthy, I swear!
The last book I read and enjoyed
I'm currently reading "Defending Jacob" by William Landay. I know I should read more light-hearted books because my job usually brings with it enough tough times, but comedies just don't intrigue me as much as much as dramas. I love a great thriller and a great storyline. If an author can reel me in with a great storyline, then I'll keep reading.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- my family and friends
- music and the ability to travel around the world
- the ability to be myself
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
The one thing that I wish people would notice about me is that even though I come off as high-energy and very positive, I am capable of a full range of emotions. I'd love to meet someone who can see all of the different parts that make up my personality.
Friends Describe me as
