The one thing I am passionate about...
My family, which includes my mother and father and my younger sister, are all very important people in my daily life. I see and talk with them often. I absolutely love to travel. Still my favorite trip was one I made immediately following graduation from graduate school in spring of 2009 when I traveled to Zambia and Botswana on a Habitat for Humanity trip building houses there! It was a life-changing experience and I can't wait to go back! I also love music, everything from Hillsong United to Brooke Frasier, both of which got me through my African adventure, from Rascal Flatts to Kelly Clarkson and from NeedtoBreathe to Gavin Degraw.
I typically spend my leisure time
When I'm not working, I love exercising, either doing Soldierfit or doing something outdoors if it's good weather, getting together with friends for dinner, going for hikes on weekends or doing something more adventurous like going on a high ropes course. I'm usually taking a class on top of my job so I usually have school work to do as well. And I love spending time with my kitten, who's getting too big now to be called a kitten. I also love to read and to listen to music. There are so many great things to do in the DC area it's incredible!!!
The most influential person in my life has been
You're serious about finding a relationship not a fling. You know who you are and aren't afraid to be yourself. You're adventurous (can be interpreted in many ways) and open minded (so you don't care that I have a comfort pillow). You are willing and able to talk things out. You can have both deep conversations but also light ones, whatever the situation calls for (i.e. you're not afraid to open yourself up. You are kind, generous and family-oriented. You want to get married and have children. If you love sports (football being a huge plus) and you can make me laugh (which isn't hard I might add), then we're off to a great start!
The first thing people notice about me
The first thing that people notice about me is my smile (I do it a lot!) I'm very open and don't hold a lot back, especially with close friends. And then there's my obsession with peanut butter. It's healthy, I swear!
The last book I read and enjoyed
The three things which I am most thankful for
- my family and friends
- music and the ability to travel around the world
- the ability to be myself
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
The one thing that I wish people would notice about me is that even though I come off as high-energy and very positive, I am capable of a full range of emotions. I'd love to meet someone who can see all of the different parts that make up my personality.
Friends Describe me as
Caring, Good listener, Outgoing, Passionate
A little more about me
Social Worker by trade and a world traveler in my time off. Now I have some of the summers off because my job was changed so I'm hoping to do more traveling next summer as well. I am passionate about social justice issues and, as a warning, I can be very opinionated about things that I am passionate about! I love football, Michigan football especially!!! Go Blue!!! I love the fall because it's football season Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. What could be better? I'm always keeping track of the games that are currently being played on my phone! What would we do without smart phones??
