The one thing I am passionate about...
I am most passionate about seeking God's will in my life. To enjoy each moment of each day as a gift and an opportunity. To continue to pursue healing in my life to to be a conduit to bring healing and connection to people God puts in my life. I love to laugh and to find humor in life and to share it with family and friends.
I typically spend my leisure time
If I"m not visiting friend(s), sharing a meal, coffee, I love to read, to listen to all kinds of music (except most rap). I like the movies or the theater also. In the winter, I enjoy crocheting or knitting by the fireplace. Sometimes I like to play the piano. I like to fish and camp. I enjoy being outdoors. I love walks or bike rides on the beach. I also like to explore new places and new adventures. I enjoy riding on the back of a motorcycle. I enjoy driving along the PCH from Santa Monica to Point Mugu to watch the ocean.
The most influential person in my life has been
To see others through the eyes of Christ. To enjoy God's creation in people and nature. To laugh at sillinesses and quirks of self and others. To be willing to be held accountable and hold others accountable with gentleness and compassion - speak the truth in love. To be free to be themselves and accept others where they are along their journey.
The first thing people notice about me
I'm a happy, friendly and accepting person. i enjoy people and easily engage in conversation. I smile a lot and find a lot to laugh about. I enjoy serious, deep conversations, but also enjoy fun and humor.
The last book I read and enjoyed
I usually read 2-3 + books at a time. I'm finishing The Gift of Being Yourself, A sacred call, by Denner; Enneagram, a Christian Perspective; Reframing your Life by S. Artenburn and a Christian Classics Devotional. Enjoying all. Sometimes, I don't finish them (it's hard to say goodbye to a good book). I love the Gift of Being Yourself, it has opened a door for me. It describes how we can really get to really know ourselves by spending time with God and knowing Him and by doing that we get a better picture of who we are which points back to God. It has fueled me so much taht I'm starting a women's reading group to go through it.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- God's relentless pursuit of me, for my salvation and His daily activity in my life.
- For love shared with my children and grandchildren, my friends and church family
- For living in the United States....and all that it entails.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I'm a little shy. No...seriously, I am.
Friends Describe me as
Affectionate, Caring, Generous, Genuine
A little more about me
To quote Dennis Prager: "I prefer clarity to agreement". English is not my first language. I love languages and the richness of the various ethnic groups.
