The one thing I am passionate about...
I am passionate about teaching! Being able to give students the skills they need to make choices and have options in their lives is deeply satisfying. Many children have chaotic, unstable lives which inhibit them from feeling safe and cared for. I love being able to help them find their strengths which will serve to nurture their independence and realization of their aspirations in the future.Knowledge is power. Plus, teaching is never boring!
I typically spend my leisure time
I enjoy walking, hiking, and bicycling in as natural an environment as possible - appreciating my surroundings. I like to listen to music - at home, etc or seeing music performed live. I also like to get together with friends and enjoy good conversation and hanging out.I am an avid reader when I have the down time to devote to getting into a good book. I prefer novels, but have been reading more non-fiction lately.
The most influential person in my life has been
I am looking for someone who is unafraid to deeply and completely communicate and express who they are within the context of a serious relationship. They should be honest about themselves and their passions in life.
The first thing people notice about me
People notice that I have a self-assured attitude that translates to getting things done productively.
The last book I read and enjoyed
I read "Eat, Pray, Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert, which is about a woman who found herself embarking on a spiritual quest after her life was thrown into an upheaval due to her realization that she needed to leave her husband and find personal autonomy. She goes to India, Italy, and Indonesia; in each location she explores a different aspect of her nature which enables her to find more balance in her life. I liked the personal narrative writing style which made me feel like I was talking to a good friend. The types of personal insights she was seeking relate to those I have been working on,and I received a number of insights.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- thankful for caring friends and family to rely on.
- Personal integrity and strength to guide me when challenges arise.
- The chance to become a more fufilled person by interacting with others.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I wish people would see that I take a humorous and more laid-back approach to things when I'm not in my business-like mode. I like to have fun and get really silly, too.
Friends Describe me as
Genuine, Good listener, Perceptive, Warm
A little more about me
I'm looking for someone who is patient, sensitive, kind, makes me feel safe, and isn't afraid to show their feelings, but can be fun and see the lighter side. I'm not asking for much, right??! LOL
