More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I'm passionate about keeping myself in good condition - physically, mentally, and spiritually. I play soccer and work out regularly, I'm in school fulltime, and attend a wonderful spirit-filled Christian church. I love to learn about new things - whether from a text book, from my kids, or just from life.

I typically spend my leisure time

Going to a Mariners' or Rainiers' game, going out to dinner, movies (in the theater or at home), hiking, working out together, or just watching the sunset by the beach are enjoyable as long as I'm with someone I like.

The most influential person in my life has been

Someone who is trustworthy, courteous, and respectful of others, and who can make me laugh.

The first thing people notice about me

I have a dry and subtle wit.

The last book I read and enjoyed

Every Now and Then by Karen Kingsbury. I enjoyed this book because the author took a real-life event - the tragedy of 9/11 - and wrote a story about fictional characters using a storyline that could have happened. It wasn't real deep - something I was able to read on the fly both figuratively and literally (I read it on the plane to HI), and didn't have to concentrate too hard on. I love to read fiction and usually prefer mysteries, and some horror, but this one was entertaining too.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. I love the sound of my children laughing - and I'm thankful that I'm able to hear it.
  2. I'm thankful for thunderstorms. I love all the sights and sounds that accompany them - from the booming thunder and flashing lightening to the noise of the dog and the cats scrambling for cover. They always remind me of God's power.
  3. I'm very thankful that Rock Band 2 has a "beginner" setting, so that I at least have an illusion of keeping up when I play with my kids.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

That while I may seem a bit reserved at first, I love to laugh and have fun, and definitely have a "silly" side.
