The one thing I am passionate about...
Most passionate... about finding my purpose in surrendering to God's perfect will for my life. Making the most of the opportunities I'm given to make a difference in people's lives - in big ways or small. Being content but never satisfied, seeing each day as the unpredictable, chaotic, yet Grace-filled adventure it truly is. Finding joy in giving others joy. Remembering to laugh, and making others laugh along. Enjoying God's good creation, while remaining mindful that this is not home - life (mine and others) is fragile, transient yet precious. Giving generously, receiving graciously and humbly. Learning to truly love and be loved.
I typically spend my leisure time
I enjoy growing spiritually and intellectually, keeping up with the world through reading - on the internet, books, etc.Traveling, especially enjoying the outdoors - skiing, camping, nature, food (both cooking and dining out).In lazier moments :) - Watching sports (especially football), playing pool, fitness, word games, music.
The most influential person in my life has been
Only one? :) Passion/compassion (ok that's two...) Also readiness and willingness to communicate on both a lighthearted level and a deeper, intimate level - there's a time for both in life.
The first thing people notice about me
My "dry wit" perhaps... I love bringing joy and laughter to people's lives, and (perhaps passed down from Dad) I have a knack for being respectfully humorous and seeing the "lighter side" - there usually is one.
The last book I read and enjoyed
Systematic Theology (Wayne Grudem). Don't laugh! I sometimes teach at my little church, and this book blessed me tremendously - much more than mere "head knowledge" about God, he eloquently brings faith and the Word down to the heart, the soul, the emotions. Astonishing - a spiritual breath of fresh air.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- God's Grace in my life, giving me hope, joy, and peace I never knew possible before
- Opportunities to make a difference in people's lives in tangible ways
- Life, breath, health, work, good food, a few genuine loyal friends
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
My heart for connecting (sometimes may initially seem introverted).
Friends Describe me as
Articulate, Funny, Intelligent, Spiritual
A little more about me
I am extremely sensitive - in a mostly good way. I am ready to pour out my heart and life into someone, and treat them with all the love God gives. Also, I am considering that with all the unloved children in the world, adoption may be a preferable family plan.
