More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Teaching... to reach the reluctant student. To give that student the skills and confidence that will inspire him/her to be motivated to love learning!Music, and embracing all that life has to offer.

I typically spend my leisure time

I enjoy active activities such sailing, biking, hiking, exercising and skiing. Attending cultural events such as the symphony, plays and/or visits to museum is also an important part of my life. I love to sing. I sing in a choir and have a dream of stretching my more classical voice into one that can handle jazz vocals. We will see. Wow. I just re-checked my profile. What was I thinking?? Travel, travel, travel. I am 2 years from retirement and plan to do a lot of it! Traveled to Italy and Greece this summer.

The most influential person in my life has been

I am looking for a kind, patient man who also sees the humor in simple situations and life in general. I hope to find a close friend, lover; a partner to share all that life has to offer. To find a man who loves to travel, is fit and is open to new adventures would be wonderful!

The first thing people notice about me

My optimism, enthusiasm , and sense of humor.

The last book I read and enjoyed

The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz. A totally unique writing style! I read books from science fiction, detective novels for fun, historical fiction to non fiction. Right now I'm trying to teach myself world history (I'm very bad at world history) and at the same time read the history of philosophy. It's a bit heady and not working too well. I think I'll reserve it for the summertime.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. I am thankful that I have security (a home, employment and a retirement) and good health.
  2. I have a network of friends and family. We all support each other in time of need and happiness.
  3. The world we live in and all the opportunities it gives us; to help each other to enjoy it to the fullest.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

People tend to see only one or two aspects of my personality. I can be very funny, sometimes "quirky", sophisticated, very intellectual & serious minded, light- hearted, a good listener, a motor- mouth if I get absorbed with telling about something interesting. It all depends upon my mood, the situation, and the person I am with.
