More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I am probably most passionate about my religious beliefs--knowing, as C.S. Lewis wrote, that "I need Christ, not something that resembles Him." This also translates to a passion for social justice and helping others, especially in different parts of the world where people are affected daily by violence and poverty.I am also passionate about music and the arts--both listening to/enjoying both and creating my own. I enjoy life, regardless of where it is taking me, and live to experience every day to the fullest.

I typically spend my leisure time

I don't have much leisure time between work and school, but when I can, I greatly enjoy reading (both fiction and nonfiction), playing hockey, listening to music, studying and going out with friends.

The most influential person in my life has been

He has to love Jesus more than he loves me.

The first thing people notice about me

When I'm in one of my "home environments," I tend to be crazy, high-energy and, well, unique. I get called unique a lot. Is that bad? :)

The last book I read and enjoyed

I read ALL the time. I think the last book I read was "The Empire's Workshop," about U.S. imperialism in Latin America. It was fantastic and I highly recommend it to anyone who questions American foreign policy in the global south. I love fiction, too, and am rereading Harry Potter...for the 5th time, I think...

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. I am very thankful for my family and friends who have been with me through both rough and good times.
  2. My education and career opportunities
  3. I'm thankful to Jesus for giving me LIFE.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

That the whole quirky front is, well, a front. I'm far deeper than most people take me for.
