More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Learning - I can't get enough of learning new things. I believe that most, if not all, problems in the world can be solved through education.

I typically spend my leisure time

I like getting together with friends for dinner and talking about work, movies, books, current events. Playing games with friends and family. I like going to movies and then talking about them afterwords.

The most influential person in my life has been

Honesty about who you are. Enough self awareness to know who you are. A sense of humor that is compatible with mine.

The first thing people notice about me

A witty, dry sense of humor.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I absolutely loved reading Jane Eyre. I never really thought I would, I guess I thought it was a mushy frivolous love novel. But I found that it was not at all frivolous but rather spoke about deep love and principles. I loved the language & the deep, thorough descriptions of a woman's thoughts & feelings about love. On a completely different perspective the last book I read was To the Last Man. A fictionalized account about World War 1. It focused on several characters, each in a different part of the war and on different sides. The characters were compelling & General Pershing was amazing. My other favorite reads are spy & mystery novels.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. walks on the beach
  2. laughing with friends
  3. the usual: family, friends, health

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I don't think people realize I have a good sense of humor right away. Men who meet me briefly don't seem impressed or interested. Yet, men that I work with I think become quite fond of me. I think it takes time to get to know me.

Friends Describe me as

Easy-Going, Generous, Intelligent, Optimistic

A little more about me

I've sworn allegiance to several sports teams: Steelers (from growing up in PA), Penn State (from undergrad), Notre Dame (my nephew is there now) and Twins baseball. But I'm always looking for another team to follow.
