More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I am most passionate about myself and my abilities and my desire to always get better with myself. I have high expectations for what I am able to do and accomplish and the standards to which I measure myself can be unrealistic sometimes. I am passionate about helping the people I care about, solving problems, etc. Now onto the dorkier side; I like movies, comic books, sports (Penn State football), pretty much anything...I guess, by nature, I am a passionate person. Whatever I do, wherever I am...that's where my full attention is focused.

I typically spend my leisure time

I read several newspapers every day and for some reason, there is nothing as relaxing as putting on an old movie and drinking a cup of coffee. I enjoy going to the gym, playing sports, sleeping, even the occasional video game. But most of all, when I can find the time, I write. A lot.

The most influential person in my life has been

Honesty. No matter what anyone says, you can't have anything with anyone anywhere without honesty. Also, integrity, a sense of humor, passionate (about what doesn't matter, just don't be lukewarm about things).

The first thing people notice about me

The fact that I can talk about anything and that I am a good listener.

The last book I read and enjoyed

Finally read "Flags of our Fathers" by James Bradley about the six marines who raised the flag on Iwo Jima. Brilliant novel, more informative than the film, a very personal and uplifting story about what seems, to me, what true strength, honor, and responsibility are all about.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My parents and late grandparents, who never pushed me, just accepted what I was doing and supported me.
  2. My degree from Penn State...it took a while, but very satisfying.
  3. My analytical ability to see all sides of the equation, from inside and outside of the box.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

Not to sound shallow, but people look at me and almost automatically dismiss me because of my height. Look past that, the substance beneath is a lot more than just how tall I am.

Friends Describe me as

Dependable, Intelligent, Loyal, Passionate

A little more about me

My degree is in journalism; I am a writer, first and foremost. But I would prefer to write for myself, not for a career or even for a paycheck. That measure of creative escape is more important to me than almost anything else. It's the freedom to create the perfect world...and I am a hopeless romantic. Put the two together and you'll find that at the end of the story/movie, the hero always gets the girl and lives happily ever after.
