More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

While I intentionally spend a lot of time by myself, I'm most passionate about visiting my friends, many of whom live out of state. I'm always planning and thinking and working off to-do lists when I'm on my own, but when I'm with friends, I'm firmly in the present moment. I like that balance, and get a lot of energy and enjoyment from seeing friends.

I typically spend my leisure time

I currently spend a lot of time by myself, reading (work & pleasure), email, following national & world events, errands, etc. I enjoy golfing, traveling, and finding interesting places like Hocking Hills. I'm an introverted extrovert, or vice versa, in that I love spending time with friends and draw a lot of energy from that, but also need a generous portion of alone time to relax and get organized. I enjoy leisurely dining out with great conversation.

The most influential person in my life has been

I'm looking for "the magic". I used to make lists of qualities I was looking for, and have realized that it doesn't work that way. There are lots of important qualities, but in the end it comes down to some kind of unexplainable gut feeling.

The first thing people notice about me

I am mixed race - mother was white, father black. Hopefully what people notice about me is that I'm somewhat "normal"!

The last book I read and enjoyed

Outbound Flight by Timothy Zahn - from Zahn's Star Wars series; great character writing, great action writing - a nice brief escape to another world. Also listened to a book on CD titled "U.S. and the Middle East, 1914 - 9/11." History is fascinating!

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My good health
  2. A group of very close friends
  3. The freedom to follow my own path in life

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

Don't really know how to answer this one. I guess I'm pretty content with what people have noticed about me. Maybe you can point me to the error in my ways.

Friends Describe me as

Dependable, Generous, Intelligent, Rational

A little more about me

I've moved 12 times since college - 9 cities, 7 states. I think I'm now done with that!
