More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I truly enjoy creating and building friendships - it doesn't matter what we do as long as there is time and conversation together. Okay, maybe it matters a little what we do...I love outdoorsie activities, and weather permitting I'll always choose to sit outside and chat over being in an air-conditioned room. While we're on the topic of passion, I'm from Barbados and I'm passionate about anything to do with the Caribbean region.

I typically spend my leisure time

I love lounging with friends...if I can incorporate an outdoors activity with this, then great. I've recently invested in a bicycle, and I love walking/hiking. If there's a warm beach available, then I'm there too. I also love to travel...most recently this has been to the Caribbean but I have and still enjoy travelling widely.

The most influential person in my life has been

I'm looking for someone who is interested in becoming life partners, and creating true companionship. I really find patience and sensitivity quite attractive.

The first thing people notice about me

My Barbados accent (yes, even after 15 years in North America)

The last book I read and enjoyed

Unaccustomed Earth by Jhumpa Lahiri and Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adice - both great fiction, immediately sucks you in. Before that The Art of Happiness coauthored by the Dalai Lama, inspirational and thought provoking.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Friends and family
  2. To be in a warm climate
  3. Health and wellness

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

If there's such a thing as being over-educated, I think I'm it, but behind it all lies someone who is willing to prioritize home and family.

Friends Describe me as

Caring, Genuine, Loyal, Outgoing

A little more about me

So they say the past determines the future. I'm from Barbados and moved to the US for college and beyond. After 15 years in the northeaset, I realized I don't like snow. Ok maybe I realized long before that, but I was blinded by educational opportunities. Soooo, I've recently moved to Houston where I'm planning to worship the sun. I haven't ruled out relocating to the Caribbean sometime in the future.
