The one thing I am passionate about...
It would probably be a better question to ask what I'm not passionate about! However, after my relationship with God, I think I am most passionate about giving 100%. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing to the best of my ability.
I typically spend my leisure time
I love to read. I also love being on the computer. The internet is an amazing way to waste a few hours, assuming I'm not playing Sims 2. I also love traveling. From the cemetery down the road (I love the history) to driving across the country to seeing the world, I look forward to having money to see more of God's creation. I'm also a current events junkie and love listening to music from nearly every genre.
The most influential person in my life has been
I am looking for someone totally committed: to God, his family, his friends, his work, etc. A man who is willing to take charge and be the spiritual leader in my life as Ephesians 5 describes (in other words, someone who agrees with me on more traditional gender roles). Someone honest and fun who loves laughing. Someone willing to look at the inner beauty and who loves conversation. Someone with morals who has saved the best of himself for his wife. A love of literature is a plus, but as long as you're willing to put up with me having my nose shoved in a book a lot, we're cool.
The first thing people notice about me
I don't have any research on this, but I think they notice how quiet I am. I have a tendency to blend into the background until I get to know someone, but this doesn't mean I'm not observing everything going on around me. They also probably notice that I tend to communicate with sarcasm at first when I do speak.
The last book I read and enjoyed
I'm always picking at "Paradise Lost" by John Milton. It's amazing! Seriously, if you've never read it, you should. It's such an amazing fictional account about Creation and the struggle between heaven and hell. In general, I love pre-twentieth century British literature. I'm working on "The Prestige" by Christopher Priest right now because I loved the movie. My tastes are very broad, and I generally find something good in anything I read/see.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- Salvation through Jesus Christ
- The love and support of my parents
- Written words: from others and myself
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I wish more people would notice that even though I can come off as uninterested, I'm not at all.
Friends Describe me as
Creative, Dependable, Funny, Intelligent
A little more about me
I graduated in May from California Baptist University with a BA in English. Now I'm back in Ohio, looking for a job and helping my parents while waiting to see what God has for me. Ultimately I want to get into the publishing industry, editing fiction. I hope to pay off my mountain of student loans by 2012. I wish I could afford to fully subscribe. For now I wait patiently for free communication weekends. There's a reason my name around the internet is AffirmationChick -- I'm full of optimistic thoughts! You can find me through that. The last thing would be that I'm really looking to develop a friendship first, slowly through e-mail :)
