The one thing I am passionate about...
Well... I'm a passionate guy about many things in life. In general, I'm not really capable of pursuing activities half-heartedly. So, I'm sort of passionate about being passionate about whatever I spend time doing on earth. I am passionate about my job, because it occupies so much of my time. I am passionate about maintaining my long-term friendships, because I've been lucky to have met some great people so far. On a day to day basis, I guess I'm most happy when I'm creating or learning something new, whether it's reading about carbon footprints on the web, writing a document for work, or cooking something from scratch.
I typically spend my leisure time
Spending time with friends, surfing the web looking for information on something obscure, watching some TV (mainly The Daily Show), playing with my dog, working out, or reading.
The most influential person in my life has been
There's no single factor that's the most important to me. I used to think it was having a very quick wit, but I'm realizing that for me, kindness and patience are right up there, too. I need the sense of humor for me, for having fun in day to day life and for the conversations that are required to keep people happy through the good times and the bad. The kindness and patience are really for how I see my partner viewing the rest of the world and treating others. I believe those three traits are a great foundation for building a flexible, caring relationship that can withstand the tests of time.
The first thing people notice about me
Most likely, my sense of humor. There's a bit of mischief in many of my comments. When I meet people, I like to use humor to make people feel more comfortable about sharing their backgrounds, what they like, what they don't like, etc.
The last book I read and enjoyed
Right now, I'm reading The Conscience of a Liberal by Paul Krugman. It's a great commentary on the division of wealth in our country and an interesting review of 20th Century U.S. political and economic history. I'm reading it in prep for Greenspan's book.
The three things which I am most thankful for
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
They may not notice that I have the world's cutest dog. Well, I may be at risk of being one of "those" people who talk about their dogs all them time, but I am lucky.
Friends Describe me as
Creative, Energetic, Funny, Intelligent
A little more about me
I'm a pretty easy going guy and I probably do best with someone who's easy going, too. By easy going, I don't mean lazy or not driven, but rather comfortable with whatever life presents - including hard times and disappointments - and believing that the world is filled with generally good people. Forgiveness is a key part of this philosophy.
