The one thing I am passionate about...
I'm passionate about my family, friends (and my dogs, too!) and working to keep a healthy balance in priorities between them and my career. I truly have the best and most supportive family and friends on the planet and love them dearly. Outside of my family and inner circle of awesomeness in my life, I am passionate about helping at-risk youth. I am extremely involved with foster youth in the community and want to advocate for them as best I possibly can.
I typically spend my leisure time
I love my dogs (the cutest black lab and chocolate lab on the continent), so I love cuddles with them!!! I love reading books of all types, spending time with people who mean a great deal to me, and I LOVE wine tasting, though I don't get to do it as often as I'd like! During football season, you'll find me watching football on weekends, as I absolutely love college football. Oh yeah, and I'm a sucker for March Madness! :) I love the San Francisco Giants, so Giants games are usually on the calendar during the seaon, too! I also love going to concerts of all types.
The most influential person in my life has been
Trust, respect and open communication. Sounds simple, right?!?! :) I am looking for someone to spend my forever with, not just casually date. No games. I want to find the man who makes me feel treasured, prioritized, safe, protected, provided for, listened to, cared about. I want someone who listens to what I say and hears my heart behind it, rather than just listening to words I speak. I want to be able to laugh with him until our faces hurt, and have a great time either out at a social event with others, or watching mindless tv while drinking wine in our pajamas.
The first thing people notice about me
My personality and the fact that when I'm in situations where there may be a new person I don't know I have no problem having a conversation with them. I'm typically not a shy person. I will have to ask some friends, though, and get their input on this one! :)
The last book I read and enjoyed
I just finished "Keeping Faith" by Jodi Picoult. Kind of controversial with the subject matter, but she's an amazing author and it made me think twice about a lot of things that I believe. It challenged me yet again to not only know what I believe, but why I believe it.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- An amazing and supportive family
- My education
- Grace and mercy extended to me when I least deserve it!
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
That I'm actually really sensitive.
