More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I am most passionate about my close relationships. It is very important to me that the people I love are happy and that I have done everything I can to contribute to their happiness.

I typically spend my leisure time

I have a strong interest in culture. I LOVE cooking, especially experimenting with ethnic cuisine, traveling, dining out, going out for drinks. My dad brews beer, so I've inherited an interest in trying out local beers. I really don't have much leisure time, but I tend to spend it doing pretty casual things (being on the water in the summer, gardening, cooking, reading, watching movies/TV).

The most influential person in my life has been

I don't know that there is any one important quality. I'm looking for a package deal. Sense of humor is one of the most important, but I also feel like it's just as important to be responsible and practical in life(both financially and in day-to-day decision making). A nice balance of both. Does that exist?

The first thing people notice about me

I love to laugh and smile, so people notice that I have a "sweet" nature. Many people say that I always seem to be in a good mood...um...not exactly true, but at least I can project that image!

The last book I read and enjoyed

Being a teacher, I read a lot of books for work. I also read a lot of kids' literature, which I actually do enjoy. Really, kids' literature can have some really complex themes despite the simple text. When I'm not reading for work, I have to admit that I enjoy the smutty supermarket checkout line tabloids.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. The supportive and reciprocal relationship I share with my immediate family
  2. A fulfilling career
  3. My health

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

Well, I think that sometimes people mistake my not saying much for being shy. Really, I just have a hard time with feeling as though I need to chit-chat just for the sake of avoiding "awkward" silences. I don't like engaging in talking just to talk. So, sometimes when I seem quiet, it's not because I'm shy or mad or whatever...I just don't have anything to say!
