More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

The welfare of my children, my lover and partner, creative writing, my inclusive political views and the arts in general. I love thinking about the meaning of life and living in a way that brings happiness to myself and others. I am very concerned about those groups of people who are alienated from society, especially children. When I retire I intend to work helping distressed children. I love to write poetry and I am currently attemting to find a publisher for my work that spans over 15 years. I love nature and the wilderness and I love being near the ocean in any season.

I typically spend my leisure time

Being with my lover, spending time with my children and writng poetry and essays.

The most influential person in my life has been

A person who responds to life in a positive way and when something happens that is painful or a set back, begins to get active and moves forward after a period re-adjusting or healing from that painful event. Life can be seen as being overwhelmingly good or charged with positive opportunities especially when other people are involved. However I am no pollyanna and things can be pretty rough so I like a person who chooses to be, by nature, part of the solution not the problem.

The first thing people notice about me

That I am attentive to them and really listen when they talk to me. I let people have the "floor" and talk. I am not by any means a silent type at all but getting to know a person is a lot more interesting and fun than listening to myself blab. I think it is bescause of this that people often gravite toward me.

The last book I read and enjoyed

The Road- It was about a father and son after the "end of civilization and order" as they strive to survive and find a colony of people who are rumored to still be moral and humanistic despite the chaos and cruelty of the mobs.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My children
  2. My ability to love other people
  3. My enjoyment in helping/giving to other people

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I give off the appearence of being pretty laid back when in fact I am extremely passionate about many things and about life itself.

Friends Describe me as

Good listener, Intelligent, Kind, Warm

A little more about me

Well, I am not an "in the box" kind of guy as that relates to thinking and accepting the status quo. I'm no rebel rouser but I have a high degree of skepticism when it comes to America's ability to be morally self-congratulatory. I am thoughtful yet full of fun and I love to play and be playful. Laughter is the best thing going.
