More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

My life includes a few simple practices for remembering what matters. Finding ways to use my skills, knowledge and creativity in the public interest is satisfing for me. This has taken me through multiple careers. I enjoy plunging into new fields of learning. Over the years my life has included fullness and complexity of many forms. For now, I enjoy a deliberately simpler approach, although travel, adventure and new explorations are always welcome. A long day outdoors brings me the best enjoyment.

I typically spend my leisure time

I enjoy getting out in the sun for a walk, hike, or snowshoe. I like to read and cook big comfort food meals for family and friends. Speedwalking, moderate hikes, snowshoeing, yoga, pilates. Roadtrips, travel and new experiences. Visiting my kids in NYC, going to a dance or music performance there or the new Museum of Modern Art.

The most influential person in my life has been

A quality of goodness, and humility about our place in the nature of things.

The first thing people notice about me

A warmth and calm, I suppose, but with vitality.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I'm on my second attempt at Proust's Swann's Way. It is taking a long time, but worth it. Mary Oliver's poetry. Awake at Work by Michael Carroll. E. Tolle. A book called Younger Next Year is inspiring me about choices for keeping the body and mind vital for many years to come.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. To have been born to the privileges and opportunity we boomers have enjoyed
  2. That I made it to Montana 35 years ago, and never looked back
  3. For the chance to raise my two sons , and now vicariously enjoy their doings.

Friends Describe me as

Genuine, Good listener, Intelligent, Warm

A little more about me

I try to move with an edge of curiosity, creativity and stretching. Yet I am straightforward and steady. I think I offer good and spirited companionship.
