More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I am most passionate about living an honorable life and, although it seems "old-fashioned", the Boy Scout Oath and Laws are still good standards for that. Service to your country, unit, team or relationship partner is a good thing too.

I typically spend my leisure time

skydiving, flying, many outdoor activities (mostly ranch work - cattle and hay).

The most influential person in my life has been

This is pretty hard to isolate, but I think I'll try to get two words into this answer and say reserved, dignified integrity (OK, that's three but reserved is an adjective.

The first thing people notice about me

Probably my grin, but a lot of folks say "dignified friendliness."

The last book I read and enjoyed

Death Song, by Michael McGarrity. Police thriller that takes place in New Mexico. Some international intrigue but the author is from NM, a former state and local peace officer and writes what he knows about. Good scenery and local customs and cultures of the area.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. my satisfaction with my life
  2. having had the opportunities to do the things I've done
  3. friends

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

That I'm not as serious as I look (?). My first Ranger platoon sergeant once said, after I (a 2Lt at the time) did something reasonably intelligent/competent, "Sir, you're not as dumb as you look." I responded, "Thank you, I think."

Friends Describe me as

Generous, Genuine, Hard Working, Loyal

A little more about me
