The one thing I am passionate about...
I love to do new things in life and learn from them. I enjoy cultural events, adventure trips, travel, and most of all to laugh and enjoy myself with my friends and a significant other. Nothing is as important as close friends, family, and a person to share those experiences with. My passion is to learn and grow as a person.
I typically spend my leisure time
I have several pursuits in my life and love exploring, history, and excitement. I SCUBA dive hang-glide, love to travel, go to the theater, art museums, martial arts, drive high performance cars, among other things. However, some of the best times are just having friends over for "Game Night" which is dinner and board games, good wine and great conversation.
The most influential person in my life has been
I want someone who will make me laugh so hard that I accidently snort my margarita out my nose! The same as everyone, the basics such as honesty, loyalty, a sense of humor, emotionally stable with not too much baggage are important. But I believe that a long term loving relationship requires four things: an emotional attachment; an intellectual connection; a similar value system of right and wrong, good and bad; and a strong physical attraction to each other. If the four basics are there, then the margarita out the nose thing is optional and a good belly laugh will suffice.
The first thing people notice about me
That I enjoy life. I am constantly looking for new, fun, and interesting things to do. From dinner and game night at my place with friends, to lectures or SCUBA diving, or hang gliding and racing cars, museums, films, shows, opera, ballet, concerts, comedy shows, and whatever else is interesting and fun. You never know what I'm going to be doing, it might even be staying home fixing dinner and spending some quality time with a special significant other.
The last book I read and enjoyed
Im always reading and typically have a few books going at once to fit my mood. Some recent readings that I enjoyed were Blink, Freakanomics, Deep Survival, The Forgotten 500, 1776, A Letter to a Christian Nation, Atlas Shrugged and others. Im currently reading The Five Love Languages, and Why People Believe Weird Things.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- I am very thankful for my close friends and family.
- I am thankful for my past experiences and travels and what I've learned from them.
- I am thankful for the good fortune that I've had in life so far.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
That I accept people for who they are and am not out to change anyone, if they want to change who they are, that is their business not mine. I have my views of how things work in the world and how I would like them to work, but I reserve the right to get smarter and learn that I may not be right. I have strong opinions of things and want someone that is willing to express themselves to me about their opinions as well.
Friends Describe me as
Affectionate, Intelligent, Loyal, Thoughtful
A little more about me
In relationships I try to be very sensitive to the needs of others and am very much in touch with my feelings, wants, needs and desires, and try to do the same for the people I care about. Its not all about me, and its not all about you either. I not only want to win someones heart but have them win mine as well. There is no perfect person out there, although Im willing to be proven wrong on this point, but until then Im willing to work toward something great with someone that I think is great.
