More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I love the art of teaching, what I teach (humanities), and my students. I absolutely love to read over a cup of coffee or glass of wine. To be sure, I am no musician but I love to play violin. I am especially fond of J.S. Bach and the various artists who bring his and others music to life especially Glenn Gould and Itzhak Perlman. I cant say I love it, but staying physically fit is an important part of my life. I enjoy just about everything outdoors but canoeing is one of my favorites.

I typically spend my leisure time

I love to read just about everything but especially history, biographies, and novels. I wish I could say my musical tastes were somewhat more eclectic but a few artists, including Bach, have also captured a portion of my leisure time. I also spend my spare time walking (love it on warm summer nights) and exercising. Good movies every once in while, coffee or dinner with friends, and spending time with my family fills up the rest of my time.

The most influential person in my life has been

Companionship, good conversation, a sense of humor, and sensibilities

The first thing people notice about me

Since I have never asked I am not really sure but most likely people would think that I am quiet yet approachable..

The last book I read and enjoyed

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini It was about two boys growing up in Afghanistan and the emotional, lifetime anguish one endures after betraying his best friend. I loved the book simply because I could not put it down I have always loved stories of redemption after a fall from grace and this book fit that mold.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My daughter Cosette
  2. My health
  3. Having found a profession I love

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

The passion in which I pursue life

Friends Describe me as
