The one thing I am passionate about...
As a single Mom, I'm obviously the most passionate about my children. They're everything to me, and I treasure every minute I spend with them. Other than my kids, I would say that lately, I'm most passionate about the new business I started. It is kind of scary to go into business for yourself, but the bonuses of it make it all very worthwhile and exciting! After that, I would say that I'm passionate about music, art, some sports, family activities, and any activities that my kids are involved in.
I typically spend my leisure time
I enjoy going to the park with my toddler and my teenage daughter. I also enjoy working around the house on gardening and landscaping, decorating and small remodeling projects, and I also like shopping, dining with friends and dancing or singing. I also like going to concerts and sporting events. I'm open to just about any type of activity that I'm invited to, and I love trying new things that I've never done before.
The most influential person in my life has been
It would have to be honesty. After enduring two marriages to men who cheated on me- and eventually left me and my children for- another woman, I think that the quality of honesty in a man is incredibly important. I'm always honest towards the person I am dating, and I expect the same in return. I've had enough heartbreak over people lying to me, and it's not something I ever want to go through again. Loyalty is also very high on my list of qualities that I look for in a partner, as is having a great sense of humor. (OK, so I know that's actually THREE things, and we were only supposed to list one, but give a girl a break, OK? ;)
The first thing people notice about me
Probably my sense of humor. Even during phone conversations with random people (the electric company rep., or a telemarketer), I'm always told that I'm very funny, and that people enjoy my sense of humor. I think that being able to find the humor in things can get you through some very difficult times without them being so draining on you, and that being able to laugh at hard times keeps your outlook positive and makes you feel young. I would hope that the man I eventually have a relationship with also has a great sense of humor- it's right up there with intelligence, honesty, loyalty and kindness in my book. I like guys who "get the joke"!
The last book I read and enjoyed
Currently reading Memoirs of a Geisha by author Arthur Golden. On the 7th Chapter. So far, so good. The book gives an insight into the history of Japan and how they valued escorts years ago. It's fascinating to read how the geisha (escorts) were perceived as a status thing back then and to be owned by a wealthy business man was consider a privileged- giving up their life and chances of ever being married and having kids. It's definitely an eye opener and quite an interesting book.I believe it was made into a movie a few years ago if you're not into books but want to see the story.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- I'm thankful for my family. We lost my father and my grandmother earlier this year, and it has made me realize just how important it is have a close knit family in your life to help you get through the tough times. My family has been through a lot this year, but our closeness with each other has really helped all of us make it through everything we've had to deal with.
- I'm thankful for my children. They give me hope for the future, and give me so much joy and happiness. I don't know what I would do without them!
- I'm thankful for my friends. They're always there for me when I need someone to talk with, and I love spending time with them, and having get togethers with them as a way to relax. Life without good friends just isn't worth living!
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
My softer, compassionate side. I always try to be very thoughtful and kind to others, yet because most of the time during my day, I'm dealing with people in a business setting, and everything is very no-nonsense and such, most of the people I encounter never get to see the gentle and sweet side of me. I think that most of the people in my family and a lot of my friends-both in my personal and business life, think I'm all business and that I never "let my guard down" and that's totally not true.I'm very compassionate and kind and I love taking care of others, but I think people don't get that about me sometimes.
Friends Describe me as
Creative, Genuine, Loyal, Thoughtful
A little more about me
I guess I just want people to know that I'm very easy to get to know, and I always try to make others feel comfortable around me. I'm very easy going and even simple, little things can totally make me smile if I've had a rough day. I don't need to be wined and dined and have someone spend lots of money on me- to me, what's more important and thoughtful is a great conversation full of honesty, humor, being open towards each other and consideration. Dating doesn't have to be so difficult- it just takes two people who put some real effort and honesty into making things work and being kind towards each other. See? It's that easy! LOL
