More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Being happy, laughing, my job and music.

I typically spend my leisure time

My new fun time is going to the gym (huh, who would have thunk it); I want to complete a 5K in the Spring. I like to read, go out with my friends for a drink or stay in and cook. I enjoy college football and basketball (go Hawkeyes!), listening to music and let's not forget euchre. I enjoy being outside; I'm really bad at outside sports but because of my competitive side I like participating and I'm really good at cheering from the sidelines (I don't have pom poms but I can yell really loud). I also do a lot of daydreaming about returning to Key West. (May cannot come fast enough).

The most influential person in my life has been

An honest communicator and someone who has a sense of humor. Life is way to short to be hiding your thoughts and not being able to laugh at yourself.

The first thing people notice about me

I didn't know, so I took a random poll of 3 people and the consensus was my laugh and wry wit.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I started a new book called 'Blindness'; recommended by a friend who is an English professor who said it was the best novel he has ever read. It's written by Nobel winner Jose Saramago. It's a different read as it is not in the standard written format. I'll keep you posted on how it goes.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My friends & family (especially my niece and nephew)
  2. The sight and sounds of the world.
  3. Helping others when they are feeling their worst.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

No clue

Friends Describe me as

Caring, Easy-Going, Funny, Good listener

A little more about me

I have a tendency to laugh out loud while buying funny birthday cards. I love to dance. I'm a self professed klutz but surprisingly broken bone free. I am learning that counting to 10 does not work while training a puppy. I know that holding someone's hand during their worst moment can be more effective than any medication. Don't let the city fool you I'm an Iowa farm girl at heart.

What I like to read

Fantasy & Science Fiction, Literature & Fiction, Romance novels

Books I've read

pride and prejudice, who doesn't like a little romance in their life....even if it is on paper., would you call harry potter fantasy? i've read the charlaine harris books of which the hbo show true blood is based upon.

Sports I enjoy playing

Sports I enjoy watching

Basketball, Football, Hockey, Skiing, Swimming

Music I like to listen to

evanescence, michael buble, harry connick, jr, nickelback, bach, beethoven, mozart

Movies I like to Watch

Crime Drama, Drama, Soap Opera

Favorite Movies to Watch

casablanca, pride and prejudice, most of the movies depend on what i'm in the mood for. i don't like horror films as i have too vivid of an imagination and i grew up on a farm and had too many 'children of the corn' movies.
