The one thing I am passionate about...
*I hurriedly filled in the requested information so I can test this site during the 4 free days, through Oct. 25th..so guess I'm passionate about that, ha, so let's communicate.*I value the spirituality in God, the Bible, prayer and the personal with friends and family. Travel seeing God's beautiful creations, meeting people and learning about their cultures are things I thrive on. My heart goes out to children who are disabled, homeless, poor, orphaned, or sick. Some of my favorites are reading and animals, adrenaline rushes, and live music and theatre. I wish I could still list water and snow skiing; my poor knees would yell at me though.
I typically spend my leisure time
Traveling in my RV or on cruises and trips to ANYWHERE obviously don't happen everyday.(Sob) Reading novels, especially with Christian interest, mysteries and self-help materials, reading/studying the Bible and participating in study groups and socializing with friends in varied settings can and do. I enjoy the computer and want to learn more about it. Caring for others has taken up quite a bit of my time, and I am just beginning to care for myself--a day late and a dollar short on this one, but we all have to start somewhere, right?
The most influential person in my life has been
I want someone who wants to get to Heaven as much as I do. He loves God, studies His Word, prays diligently, seeks Him & doesn't just accept what he's been taught or told without finding it out for himself & is non-judgmental knowing that both of us have pasts with mistakes & often without God. My match is either searching for a church or "thinks" he's found the right one, but knows he can worship God in many different settings but wants the fellowship that commitment to a church offers. He wants to attend church together as a couple, grow together as Christians, & always put God first. (no stick-in-the-mud's/stuff-shirts/self-righteous)
The first thing people notice about me
Probably they would notice my smile, or giggle/laughter, friendliness, or talkative nature and probably a combination of all 4. I can't tell a joke worth beans though, and part of that is because I never can remember them. The punch line really doesn't come first??? Are you joshing me?
The last book I read and enjoyed
I am currently reading Jan Karon's Mitford series. They are not my favorite books to date, but I made a commitment to read them since I had been interested for some years and since I purchased them. They are easy reading, calming, Christian based, and I've actually gotten hooked on the characters and the delightful little town of Mitford. It seems I just have to drop in periodically to see what's going on.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- my growing relationship with God including reading and studying the Bible and prayer
- my friends and family and what they have contributed to making me the person I am today
- the beauty in the world and the opportunities I've had to enjoy it: opportunities to travel and experience people and cultures
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
Do I really have to be honest here? Drat! I, either truthfully or in my own mind, think other people may notice that I'm not the trim petite person I once was and may have trouble seeing beyond the weight I've gained and with which I struggle. That's part of the taking care of myself, which I mentioned earlier, that I am just starting to do. To answer this question after giving you information which I feel you deserve, I wish they would always see the great person I feel like I am without the physical front.
Friends Describe me as
Caring, Dependable, Loyal, Outgoing
A little more about me
I like to try new things whether it be activities or food; was raised on a farm, have lived in small towns, & am in/near a city now; have taken care of my responsibilities such as making a living, raising my child, & now am ready for a simpler life, to stop & smell the roses minus the thorns; hope to do some benevolent work in with traveling; have spent 27 years single-again without placing emphasis on finding a mate; now realize I am tired of being alone; would like to find my soul mate with lots of emphasis on soul; realize I am out of practice w/ men; R U patient as I might be a bit shy until I get the hang of it again or "scared 2 death"?
