More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

After losing my brother and two good friends far too young, I am passionate about living life to the fullest by cherishing those I love, recognizing and enjoying the simple pleasures and not sweating the small stuff. I am a strong believer in using my talents and gifts to contribute good to the causes that matter to me. Two of my passions are helping animals and volunteering with the American Red Cross. On the lighter side, I'm an avid Memphis Tigers basketball fan. ( I really do bleed blue!) I'm committed to keeping healthy and fit and love pilates and kick boxing.

I typically spend my leisure time

Volunteering with the Red Cross. Caring for animals.Enjoying the sights and sounds of Memphis. Watching Memphis Tiger basketball (and other college basketball). Exercising. Reading. Keeping up with local and national news.

The most influential person in my life has been

I can't narrow it down to one. Integrity is very important to me, but so is a sense of humor. Being able to laugh gets you through a lot of things in life.

The first thing people notice about me

I'm usually very outgoing.

The last book I read and enjoyed

Too Late to Say Goodbye by Ann Rule. This is a true story by my favorite crime writer. I am fascinated with how police detectives can tie information and evidence together to solve crimes. (I have to divulge that my daughter was a CSI and my son-in-law is a police sergeant, so fascination with solving crimes is kind of a family thing.)

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Seeing my daughter -- the light of my life -- grow into an awesome young woman with a wonderful life. Being her mother has been the single most inspiring part of my life.
  2. My sisters.
  3. My life experiences. The highs and the lows have all have helped me grow to be a more compassionate, whole person.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

Although I'm outgoing and friendly, I'm also very sensitive.
