The one thing I am passionate about...
I love music, especially indie music and live concerts. I also seek out to find something new, whether traveling, exploring, finding new places and customs. I'm an avid skier (especially off-piste), and I've been taking up golf (although I'm really bad). I'm a techie, and like engineering solutions to problems. I find history and architecture fascinating, so it isn't unusual to find me catching up on an obscure discovery channel show.
I typically spend my leisure time
Skiing in the winter and golf in the summer, outside trying to photograph something beautiful, sailing, going out with friends (to the park, to watch a baseball game, to grab a drink, etc), grilling food or trying out new restaurants, and checking out local music. I love to get out for a hike and be active (although not THAT active -- I don't run triathlons!) since I can't sit still, but from time to time it is great to sit around with good people and savor a glass of wine.
The most influential person in my life has been
Motivation and honesty. You've got to love what you're doing and you can't be shy to talk about what you're thinking. (whoops, that's 2!)
The first thing people notice about me
I'm initially shy and reserved while smiling for no apparent reason.
The last book I read and enjoyed
"A Year in the Merde". It was a hilarious account of a British businessman in Paris, and all of the cultural differences that he incurs while trying to work there and woo women. I enjoyed the laissez faire style of the book, and the quirky encounters interspersed with awkward silence. I also spent literally a year reading The Fountainhead. It was a slog, but I finally finished (yay!) and am enlightened with Ayn Rand's philosophy :) Plus the "Four Hour Workweek" and "The Good Man Jesus and Scoundrel Christ". Quite a variety!
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My family and their support no matter how crazy my ideas are.
- Being able to choose my own destiny, and lead a team of exceptionally intelligent people.
- The ability to travel regularly and explore the world.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
That I laugh at myself more than people realize. And that I'm smiling because I'm nervous and its my unconscious way of breaking the ice.
Friends Describe me as
Dependable, Intelligent, Loyal, Passionate
A little more about me
I recently took up sailing, which is a bit like joining a cult.
