More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I'm most passionate about a delicious meal, followed by a good night's sleep. I'm also passionate about traveling, spending time with friends and family, being as eco-friendly as possible, and random bits of trivia.

I typically spend my leisure time

My leisure time? Well, I enjoy entertaining friends. I love exercising and practicing yoga. I enjoy volunteering at the library (I teach a writing class for ESL), and I like having conversations with strangers I meet on the street.

The most influential person in my life has been

Three actually. Honesty, kindness, and a wicked sense of humor.

The first thing people notice about me

My wit.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I have a huge bookcase so I read a lot, but for some reason I'm drawing a blank on the last book that I truly enjoyed. Too many literary critique classes! :) I read two articles recently that I truly enjoyed; one in the New Yorker about experiments where robots are being used to assist the elderly and people with brain trauma. I was tickled by the connection the elderly patients made with the robots (they re-arranged their schedules to spend time with the robots!). I also enjoyed a Vogue article about Hillary Clinton (who I always felt was a tad prickly). I was touched when she mothered the interviewer when he became ill with food poisoning.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. I'm thankful for my ability to see the glass as full when it's half-empty, or even completely empty. After all, when the glass isn't full of water, it's full of air.
  2. I'm thankful for my ability to cook and throw successful dinner parties. I love being surrounded by friends and family.
  3. I'm thankful for my education: academic and through daily life. I love learning new things everyday.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

People always seemed surprised that I'm smart.

Friends Describe me as

Funny, Intelligent, Outgoing, Warm
