The one thing I am passionate about...
(not in any particular order) Learning about different cultures and the sciences,my family, George Herbert's poetry, reading sermons from Karl Barth, travel to exotic and remote places, Christian concerts, seminars, guitar playing, singing worship songs loudly in my car, arts and crafts, calligraphy, fountain pens, reading theology and bible, scripture memorization, healing patients, hiking and nature, snowboarding, Tommy Bahama shirts, learning new skills, and of course, vampire movies, and most especially my dog Emma.
I typically spend my leisure time
Reading, movies, worship!!! outdoor activities, gym, jump rope, playing guitar and singing, hiking and being in nature, (occasionally playing x-box!), hanging with friends and family, writing thank you cards, arts and crafts, dreaming of novel ideas, trying new beers, movies and travel as much as possible!
The most influential person in my life has been
To name a few..........Self-aware, spontaneous, sees existence as a gift to be discovered each day, ability to embrace suffering and use it as a catalyst for God's glory, happy disposition, introspective, sensitive and giving to self and others, intuitive, persistence and hardworking, her own personal style, true to herself, emotionally honest, funny (a little sassy would be bonus), emotionally strong, loving and affectionate, creative, self-renewing and the ability to transform all experiences into something redemptive, kingdom-minded, a woman who has truly experienced God's goodness, forgiveness and grace.
The first thing people notice about me
People notice my unassuming, outgoing and fun-loving character--always regarding others as important and valued.
The last book I read and enjoyed
The Irresistible Revolution by Shane Claiborne. I absolutely loved this book, and then I discovered the audio version on itunes, and was captivated as the author reads in his funny southern voice. He is refreshingly humble, funny and passionate. This book is simply about loving people in Jesus' name, having a heart for the marginalized and the oppressed and actually putting Christ in a place of primacy, so that we can affect radical changes in the places we live. Tim Keller's, The Prodigal God, and Brennan Manning's, The Furious Love of God were both equally amazing!
The three things which I am most thankful for
- God's saving grace in Jesus on the cross and the result of that resurrection beauty in my life
- My loving and supportive family and friends
- My career and my precious dog Emma
Friends Describe me as
Affectionate, Caring, Hard Working, Thoughtful
