The one thing I am passionate about...
I am passionate about having close and loving relationships with my family and friends; about being outdoors when the weather is even marginally fine; about getting a decent night's sleep; about playing a mean game of Scrabble; about honesty and warmth and responsibility in my dealings with others.
I typically spend my leisure time
Spending time with good friends and family is probably my favorite thing to do when I'm not working. Whether walking in the woods or at the ocean, taking in a movie or having a good meal at home or out on the town; if I'm with people I love, I'm happy. When alone, I enjoy reading, writing, walking, biking, puttering in the house and garden. I occasionally play Scrabble in tournaments and on-line and adore the game.
The most influential person in my life has been
An adult with childlike features! Someone who can be honest with themselves and others and is able to give and accept feedback. Someone who has a full, rich life which I can be part of and who also wants to be part of my good life. A man who understands a bit about his own heart and mind and can share that with me. The ability to laugh easily, especially at oneself, is one I prize highly. If you like to cook, sing and dance that would be great! Notice I didn't say you had to be good at any of them...
The first thing people notice about me
Hard to know for sure, but perhaps that I am comfortable in my own skin.
The last book I read and enjoyed
"Water for Elephants" by Sara Gruen. Passion, madness, unlikely friendships and loyalty to oneself and others are explored in this novel about a traveling circus in the 1930's. I found it absorbing and hated to see it end. Now I'm reading "The Story of Edgar Sawtelle" which I'd resisted because it has been so popular; I'm loving it.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My family and friends, with whom I have happy and satisfying relationships.
- My work, which I find rewarding and creative, and which pays the bills.
- My home, which is over 100 years old and still going strong.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
That I'm kind of funny.

A little more about me
I am loving, loyal, a little goofy at times, open-minded and big-hearted; not too sure about meeting people this way but willing to try!My life is good and I'm not looking for someone to fix or complete it, but am still hoping to find that special someone: you don't have to be a white knight...I'm no princess. But I have a lot of love to share and hope to find someone to cherish and be cherished by for the rest of the time we have above ground!
