The one thing I am passionate about...
I have many interests in things like music, art and science, but what I have become most passionate about is experiencing life. Realizing that our time is finite and it's the experiences we have that are most important - not the clothes and cars and houses.
I typically spend my leisure time
One of my favorite things to do is to take my camera equipment out on the trails and through the hills and take pictures. Insects, animals...whatever catches my eye. I can lose myself out there like that and it's wonderful. I also exercise regularly, but I make it a point for it not to always be in the gym. It's important to get outside in the real world! AND, I also like to learn cool new things. For examples, I took a semester of French at the end of 2014 and I am now learning music theory. Our minds need regular exercise too!
The most influential person in my life has been
I would love to find someone who is capable of critical thinking, intellectual honesty and who understands that a human being is capable of experiencing wonder and passion in life without believing in childish mythology/religions, superstitions and other types of nonsense. -- This next part isn't mine, but it pegs me --I hate small talk. I want to talk about atoms, death, sex, intellect, the meaning of life, music that makes you feel, memories, the lies you've told, your flaws, your favorite scents, what keeps you up at night, your insecurities. I like people who have depth and emotion and a twisted mind. I don't want to know "what's up."
The first thing people notice about me
My wit. Definitely my wit. I have a VERY broad sense of humor and I'm not often shy about it.
The last book I read and enjoyed
Candide, by Voltaire. I had never read Voltaire before and this was absolutely hilarious! It is a satire of philosophy and religion, but his 17th century wit and insight are razor sharp.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- Being born in the U.S. Just that one thing gives me advantages so many other don't have.
- My health. There are millions of others who have to struggle every day with health issues.
- Friends and family. I'm very fortunate to have some people who always have my back.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
That I am a very thoughtful person. What I mean by that is I have an open mind and think critically. I have a very well-rounded knowledge of things and am a somewhat natural skeptic who loves to know the truth. (read evidence...)
Friends Describe me as

A little more about me
Do you remember in your life, so many times you were traveling down the road on a trip or even just to the store, all of those little things you always wanted to stop and see or just get a picture of - and never did? I now stop for them...and I'm SO glad that I do.
